The Recorder
I was born and am still based in London. I studied English at UCL, worked in advertising for 5 years, and then completed the MA Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from the London College of Communication. I now teach and work as a documentary practitioner in London.
A major theme of my documentary practice is the role of the market and corporate influence in the built environment, particularly London.
The mediums used in my practice span photography, moving image, and expanded visualisation technologies such as computer rendered animation, 3D scanning, and interactive virtual environments. The main outputs of my work are short films, images, and exhibitions.
My work has been recognised through a number of awards, fellowships, and shortlists in the visual arts. In 2023 I was selected by Film London as one of their Lodestar film makers to watch out for. In 2022 I was selected as one of Circa x Dazed’s Class of 2022 emerging film-makers. Check my website below for the full CV.
My first solo exhibition was held at the Royal Institute of British Architects in 2015. I have since had solo presentations at Arebyte, Werkleitz Centre for Media Art, and VITRINE. My work has also been presented by galleries and institutions such as The Photographer’s Gallery, Fotomuseum Winterthur, C/O Berlin, SPACE, and the Nooderlicht Photography Festival. My films have been shown in a number film festivals such as Sheffield Doc Fest and the B3 Moving Image Biennale.
